New Suburb Beautiful is a small neighborhood within the Hyde Park district of Tampa, Florida, and is considered in the heart of South Tampa. It is in the coveted Plant HS district.
New Suburb Beautiful’s boundaries are roughly Morrison Avenue to the north, MacDill Avenue to the east, Prospect Avenue to the south, Howard Avenue to the west, and the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway to the Southeast. The roads start with Morrison Avenue in the North, then Jetton Avenue, Watrous Avenue, Sunset Drive, and Prospect Road. From east to west there is Howard Avenue, Moody Avenue, Georgia Avenue, Marti Street, and MacDill Avenue.
New Suburb Beautiful was originally developed between 1920 and 1940 by renowned developer Allen J. Simms, and almost all of the homes have been restored to their original beauty. Many of the newer homes have been built to preserve the historic aesthetics of the neighborhood. The community has tree lined streets, sidewalks and excellent access to schools and shopping along Howard Avenue and South Tampa, all of which provide for convenience and quality of neighborhood living. Due to it’s location, history and neighborhood feel, homes and land value tend to be in high demand.
